Maria Eriksson is a PhD candidate in media studies and an affiliated researcher at Humlab, Umeå University, Sweden. Eriksson has a background in social anthropology with a specialised interest in digital and economic anthropology. Her dissertation explores the role of digital technologies in online music distribution, and studies contemporary ways of organizing, evaluating, and exhibiting music by technological means.
