Vera Tollmann

Vera Tollmann studied Applied Cultural Science and Practical Aesthetics at the University of Hildesheim and Cultural Studies at the John Moores University in Liverpool. Her work focuses on the practice and theory of the internet, the discourse of climate change, and China’s reception in the West. In 2013 she co-curated the 9th edition of Video Vortex conference at the Centre for Digital Cultures of Leuphana University Luneburg and in 2014 she curated the 3rd Land Art Mongolia. Since 2015, Vera is a research associate at UdK Berlin and a PhD candidate at HfbK Hamburg. She is co-editor of several publications and author of contributions for catalogs and magazines. Along with Boaz Levin, Maximilian Schmoetzer, and Hito Steyerl, she co-founded the Research Center for Proxy Politics in 2014. Their book Proxy Politics: Power and Subversion in a Networked Age, was published by Archive Books in 2017.
